U.S. military starts training Syria fighters to combat Islamic State

The U.S. military has started training Syrian fighters to combat Islamic State militants, officials said on Thursday, adding the program had begun in Jordan and would soon launch in Turkey.

U.N. kicks off Syria talks, hopes opposition fighters will come

Heavy clashes in Aden airport, alliance accused of cluster bomb use

Local fighters battling the rebel Houthi militia in Yemen's port of Aden stormed areas around the airport on Sunday in an operation supervised by the Saudi-led coalition, which also provided air support, the group's spokesman said.

Death toll from U.S.-led strike rises to 52 civilians in Syria

The death toll from an air strike by U.S.-led forces on the northern Syrian province of Aleppo has risen to 52 including seven children, a group monitoring the conflict said on Saturday.
