Iran, Turkmenistan to hold gas talks

Iranian delegation headed by Petroleum Minister Rostam Ghasemi is scheduled to visit Turkmenistan in the near future in order to hold talks on issues of mutual interest.

Iran, Turkmenistan sign agreement on gas-for-equipment barter deal

Iran and Turkmenistan today have signed a gas-for-equipment barter deal, Fars reported citing Iranian diplomatic sources. Previously it has been reported that Iran is in debt for about $1 billion to Turkmenistan for gas imports, and is working out on a deal to offer its Central Asian neighbor other commodities, instead of money.

EU, Azerbaijan confirm commitment to negotiations with Turkmenistan on Trans-Caspian Pipeline

During the thirteenth meeting of the Cooperation Council between the EU and Azerbaijan the sides confirmed their commitment to the negotiations with Turkmenistan on the construction of the Trans-Caspian Pipeline.

Russia plays along with Sakhalin pipeline project

Russian gas monopoly Gazprom has apparently ruled out building a subsea Sakhalin-Japan natural gas pipeline. That is not preventing continued talks on the ambitious project, which remains a bargaining tool in Russia's gas-price negotiations with China.

Ankara confirms request for more Russian gas amid Iran sanctions

Energy Minister Taner Yıldız confirmed on Tuesday that Ankara is in talks with Moscow to increase its gas supply to Turkey as US-led sanctions on Iran over its suspected nuclear program have forced Turkey to cut imports of Iranian gas.
