EU draft deal on Britain not a euro zone veto: Tusk letter

Oil drops 6 pct on China data, slim chances of OPEC deal

U.S. crude oil prices fell 6 percent on Monday as weak economic data from China, the world's largest energy consumer, reversed a four-day rally from last week and an OPEC source undermined chances of an emergency meeting to stem the decline.

U.N. announces start of Syria peace talks as government troops advance

The United Nations announced on Monday peace talks for Syria had begun and called on world powers to push for a ceasefire, even as government forces, backed by Russian air strikes, launched their biggest offensive near Aleppo in a year.

Egypt says made no arrests in connection to Russian plane crash

Egypt's interior ministry denied on Saturday making any arrests in connection with the crash of a Russian passenger plane in Sinai last October that killed all 224 people on board.

U.S. warship sails near island claimed by China in South China Sea

A U.S. Navy destroyer sailed within 12 nautical miles of an island claimed by China and two other states in the South China Sea on Saturday to counter efforts to limit freedom of navigation, the Pentagon said.

Turkey says Russian jet violated its airspace again, warns of consequences
