Uzbekistan

On the invitation of President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, Federal Chancellor of the Federal Republic of Germany Olaf Scholz arrived in Uzbekistan for an official visit on September 15.

In recent years, labor migration has emerged as a promising area of cooperation with Germany. At the same time, multifaceted and mutually beneficial relations in the field of healthcare are also developing consistently.

During the official visit to Samarkand, eight bilateral documents were signed, including an Intergovernmental Agreement on Comprehensive Partnership in the Field of Migration and Mobility.

The main goal of this document is to strengthen partnership between the two countries in improving conditions for attracting qualified specialists from Uzbekistan to Germany, particularly in areas of healthcare and elderly care as well as enhancing training and professional skills and organizing transparent and systematic cooperation in this direction.

Uzbekistan

It is important to note that the Agreement between Uzbekistan and Germany holds symbolic significance, as it demonstrates the readiness of signing parties for close cooperation in the field of migration. Germany is experiencing a shortage of personnel in its healthcare system, and attracting foreign specialists is seen as one of the solutions to this problem. So far this agreement has been signed with only five countries worldwide.

This document is also viewed as a result of Germany's broader migration policy and its strategy for expanding economic cooperation with Uzbekistan.
